About Us
The BIM Education Co-opTM provides an affiliation of firms and individuals, the collective resources of which will allow the flexibility to offer educational products and services for projects of any size in U.S. and international markets, and to provide collective benefits to its members.
That is an edited version of one "Whereas" statement in the BIM Education Co-opTM Letter of Agreement.
There are five "Whereas" statements and 21 points in the Agreement, which basically says we are going to play nicely while we help establish BIM Education Standards…just like we want software vendors to play nicely as they help establish BIM Software Standards.
We can probably come up with better language in another draft, but it is a good start.
While all aspects of Co-op membership will be decided by members, it will be strongly recommended that all Co-op members also become members of the buildingSMART AllianceTM and sign its Memorandum of Understanding. While it may seem like the Co-op is replicating some of the education initiatives of the Alliance, it is our intention to create a for-profit entity that strongly supports the Alliance.
We appreciate the support of our early members who are working to establish a widely acceptable agreement while collaboratively working on patently different education products and services.
Contact Mike Bordenaro for more information about the education revenue streams we are pursuing.
